1 Jul 2008 - NEHYL Rule - Amendment - Zero Tolerance Policy

RULES OF THE NORTH EAST HAMPSHIRE YOUTH LEAGUE

Amendment for the Season 2008 – 2009

NEHYL – A ZERO TOL ERANCE POLICY

The NORTH EAST HANTS Youth Football League prides itself as being one of the most flexible, fairest Leagues. We work hard with all member Clubs to give all the young people who play and referee football a very positive, good and worthwhile experience.

Clearly the relationships with all the adults at matches and at training must be positive, sporting and above all be part of the example adults should be setting for the young people in their charge. Sadly, there has been a disconcerting trend of bad behaviour including referee abuse, badly behaved spectators, parents entering the field of play and attacking players and a number of games abandoned.

WE ASK YOU TO REMEMBER

Ë    Young People Are Not Playing to Satisfy your Ambitions.

Ë    Young People Are Involved for Their Enjoyment Not Yours!

Ë    You Have a Responsibility to Encourage Young People to Play by the Rules and spirit of the Laws of the Game.

Ë    Teamwork and Effort Are As Important As Winning.

Ë    Never Ridicule Or Shout At A Young Person for Making A Mistake Or for Losing.  Praise Them - Or Keep Quiet.

Ë    Set An Example - Applaud Good Play by Both Teams.

Ë    Never Publicly Question the Referees Decisions. Never Doubt his/her honesty or integrity.

Ë    Help Remove All Verbal and Physical Abuse in Football.

Ë    Recognise the value and importance of the Coaches (of both teams) who give up their time to help young people.

So much good work can be undone by one unsavoury incident. Be responsible. Obey this Code of Conduct and allow everyone to watch the best game in the world.

If you cannot abide by this Code of Conduct then we would insist that you do not attend matches in the NEHYL.

This League is now adopting a ZERO TOLERANCE policy to the extent that players who have parents, guardians etc, who fail to meet acceptable standards of behaviour, WILL BE SUSPENDED FOR AT LEAST ONE GAME.

In addition, offending Clubs / Teams, if found guilty, are likely to have their membership of this League cancelled for failing to control players, spectators, officials.
