Cup & Plate Competitions      for U9s to U13s

 

This year we are hosting our Sixteenth Annual Tournament, and we would like to invite you to compete in our 5,6 & 7 a-side tournament, which will be held at

The Mytchett Centre, Mytchett, Nr Camberley, Surrey , GU16 6AA .

 

Our tournament has long been recognised as being one of the best organised and most enjoyable in the area. Following some useful feedback from last year’s tournament, we are pleased to announce some exciting new changes. We believe these will make the event even more fun for the participants and spectators than in previous years:

 

·          Older ages will play on Monday (avoids clashes with Sunday league games in the event of an extended season)

 

·          All competitive age groups will have both a Cup and a Plate Competition, which will allow the majority of teams to participate in a knockout phase (subject to sufficient numbers of teams entering in each age group)

 

·          U7s and U8s age groups will be a Festival format as recommended by the FA. This reflects the friendly nature of the game at these ages. All competitors at U7s and U8s will receive a plaque or medal

 

·          We have added a new team-based penalty shoot-out competition to add enjoyment between games

 

·          Penalty shoot-out entry will be free for all early bookings received before the end of February 2008

 

 

And as usual we provide the following:

 

·          BBQ selling only top quality butcher’s meat, plus a tea & refreshments tent

 

·          Experienced referees for all matches

 

·          12ft wide goals to promote high goal scoring and more entertaining matches

 

·          Individual trophies for players from all winning teams & runners-up (for competitive age groups)

 

 

The numbers of teams are limited per age group, so we will only reserve places on fully paid team entries and on a first received basis. The entry fee is £25.00 per team. The penalty shoot-out competition is £5.00 per team, payable on the day (free for teams whose entries and payment are received before the end of February 2008).

The 2007/2008 season age qualification will apply for respective leagues that each team play in.  Games will be played in mini leagues, typically with quarter, semi & finals to follow, plus a knockout plate for all competitive age groups. Trophies will be awarded for competitive age groups at the end of the tournament to winners & runners-up.

 

 

Should you wish to enter, please return the enclosed form together with your cheque made payable to "MAFC" ASAP to avoid disappointment.  Final details will be sent to participating teams approximately 1 week before the tournament.
